A really in-depth and unbiased analysis of events leading to Operation Bluestar and the Operation itself. The book gives a brief history on the origin of the Sikh faith and the grievances they had, followed by the political games that led to the worsening of the situation. A very informative read! Highly recommended for those interested in learning more about the events that shaped modern India

Minkowski geometry is a non-Euclidean geometry in a finite number of dimensions that is different from elliptic and hyperbolic geometry (and from the Minkowskian geometry of spacetime). Here the linear structure is the same as the Euclidean one but distance is not "uniform" in all directions. Instead of the usual sphere in Euclidean space, the unit ball is a general symmetric convex set. Therefore, although the parallel axiom is valid, Pythagoras' theorem is not. This book begins by presenting the topological properties of Minkowski spaces, including the existence and essential uniqueness of Haar measure, followed by the fundamental metric properties - the group of isometries, the existence of certain bases and the existence of the Lowner ellipsoid. This is followed by characterizations of Euclidean space among normed spaces and a full treatment of two-dimensional spaces. The three central chapters present the theory of area and volume in normed spaces. The author describes the fascinating geometric interplay among the isoperimetrix (the convex body which solves the isoperimetric problem), the unit ball and their duals, and the ways in which various roles of the ball in Euclidean space are divided among them. The next chapter deals with trigonometry in Minkowski spaces and the last one takes a brief look at a number of numerical parameters associated with a normed space, including J. J. Schaffer's ideas on the intrinsic geometry of the unit sphere. Each chapter ends with a section of historical notes and the book ends with a list of 50 unsolved problems. Come on it's a book about Nutella, it's gonna be good.

This book has everything. Do you want to make your own Nutella, it got that. Do you want to make a Nutella cake in a cup, it's got that too. It's way more than a book that tells you all of the things you can put nutella on (although that book would fill up a kindle). I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes nutella and for those who don't, I probably wouldn't be talking to you.

Never Waste Nutella Again!

I am so thankful that this book exists! I'm not sure about you but I always have extra Nutella lying around that I have no idea what to do with. This book gives that extra Nutella some purpose. It is chock full of clever recipes infused with and centered around Nutella. The layout of the book is simple and very easy to navigate. Each recipe is organized into different categories which makes finding similar recipes easy.

When you finally decide on one of the 101 recipes to make you will find that all of the necessary ingredients are neatly listed along with clear and thorough methods on how to prepare the recipe.

One of my favorite features about the product is that it clearly tells you the amount of people that the finished recipe can feed which allows you to plan your meals in advance.

Overall I was pleased with how simple and easy the book was laid out and was really intrigued at how versatile Nutella can truly be.

This is an amazing E-Book! It's about Nutella, so right there is amazing.

When I came across this book my Nutella loving husband instantly wanted it! He loves cooking and Nutella, so what better than a recipe book all about that? The recipes are laid out very good. I love that the amount each one will make is the very first thing. Then the ingredients and how to, which is step by step!

This book even gives some background on Nutella. So many recipes look amazing. I am going to have to make a major investment in huge jars of Nutella if my husband has any say. Since this is a Kindle addition book, I can easily access it from my phone any time I need it.

It's not an deserts either. There are actually some main course meal recipes in here! Overall I'm excited about this book. My recommendation: grab some Nutella, anything with Kindle on it, and head to the kitchen for a delicious cooking afternoon!

Jonathan Phang has worked in the fashion industry for over two decades, managing the careers of models such as Jerry Hall and appearing on TV as a fashion expert, notably as a judge on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. He owns and runs one of the industry’s leading hair and makeup agencies. Jonathan has a passion for food and cooking and has created a TV show with the Food Network based on his Caribbean recipes.

Ok, I glanced through this treasure in a Tommy Bahama store on El Paseo in Palm Desert, CA.
Had to have it! Always check to see if my fav store in the entire world carries it and YES! And as usual for much much less!

Great cookbook and story!

A good cookbook and an affectionate memoir

People expecting a conventional cookbook may be put off by how much of it is dedicated to the author's family history. Although the Caribbean is closer to the US, Jonathan Phang is much better known in the UK, where he grew up and lives. But as he explains, "Guyanese people are made up of the six races of the Caribbean: East Indian, Chinese, Mixed European (Creole, mostly British and Portuguese), African, North American, and indigenous Amerindian." Understanding that "between them, my parents' blood represented all of these six races" is crucial to understanding a recipe that combines soy sauce, worchestershire, ketchup, yellow mustard, dark rum, habaneros, and lime. And growing up in England as he did, where he encountered "bland, badly cooked food away from home," you appreciate his fierce attachment to the "aromatic and spicy" food his parents brought with them.

All this would only be of historical or sociological interest if the recipes themselves were disappointing, but I have yet to try anything from the book that is less than delicious. If you're after Caribbean food that's scorchingly hot, you won't find it here. For me, his recipes are a perfect balance between the hot chilies of the Caribbean, the richness of ingredients like coconut milk, the refreshing bite of lime juice and cilantro, and a blend of spices and seasonings from the cultures that came together in Guyana.

About the Author
Jennifer Trujillo received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA. She is currently a professor in the Teacher Education Department at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Dr. Trujillo feels strongly about the importance of culturally responsible and universally relevant readings, with challenging activities, to help all students succeed. To that end, she helped to establish the pedagogical framework of the Milestones program and provided valuable feedback on each of the reading selections to ensure culturally responsive instruction for the pre and post reading activities. Dr. Neil J Anderson is a professor in the MA TESOL program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He has worked in Intensive English programs at Brigham Young University, The University of Texas at Austin, and Ohio University. He worked as the Program Associate for Measurement and Evaluation for the Overseas Refugee Training Program in Southeast Asia for the Center for Applied Linguistics. He spent one year on sabbatical as Visiting Professor at a university in Costa Rica. From 2001-2002 he served as President of TESOL. He is the author of National Geographic Learning's Active Skills for Reading series.
